"This year North House Folk School hosts its 17th annual Wooden Boat Show and Summer Solstice Festival. On Friday night we do a wooden boat parade. On Saturday we host a larger-than-life puppet pageant to celebrate solstice in the north. The show is put on by the Good Harbor Hill Players. And this is the biggest day of the year for us. If you can imagine it, there's 1,000 people on our campus. The cobbled beach is the stage. You're looking at the pageant's splendors, the music is underway — and what's happening? The sun is setting across the Sawtooth Mountains and the golden light of summer is washing across Grand Marais Harbor. It's incredible northern joy!"
