The start of the eighth inning was delayed on Tuesday when a fan fell from an area overlooking the Brewers bullpen and had to be brought off on a stretcher off. The Brewers announced that the fan was conscious and was taken to an area hospital.
Twins reliever Casey Fien just happened to be looking in that direction while stretching when he saw the fan fall.
``It looked like he was trying to touch toes, and suddenly his feet just flipped over his head,'' Fien said. ``He did a somersault, because he was trying to grab onto that net that's out there for the home runs during b.p. and just flipped right over. It was scary.''
Brian Duensing said he heard a noise when the fan landed in the bullpen - not far from where Brandon Kintzler was warming up.
Workers rushed to his aid and began to stretcher him off, but then he slipped off the stretcher. A cart eventually came out, and he was loaded onto it and driven off.
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he heard that the fan should be O.K. But it was not a pretty scene.
``It looked bad when the guy was falling down,'' said Fien, who was relieved to hear the fan was going to be fine.
