The Twins have won four of their past five games in Milwaukee, including both games last season. … They are 19-19 all-time in Miller Park. … June is Trevor Plouffe’s month. He’s a career .305 June hitter with 14 homers and 35 RBI in 46 games. … Josh Willingham says power hitters always are searching for timing. He seems to have found some. He has hit three home runs in seven games since coming off the disabled list. … Willingham is one of a few Twins who have numbers against Gallardo. He’s 3-for-10 against him with a homer. Jason Kubel is 6-for-15 with a home run against him. And Plouffe has hit home runs in his past two at-bats against Gallardo.
The Brewers were one of the surprises in baseball in April when they zipped to a 20-8 start. There was a correction in May, when they went 13-15. … Manager Ron Roenicke has juggled the lineup with success, moving Jean Segura to leadoff, Ryan Braun to second and Carlos Gomez to cleanup. Gomez always believed he would one day be a No. 3 hitter, and he’s getting close. … Third baseman Aramis Ramirez (left hamstring) is close to being activated from the DL. He’s on a minor league rehabilitation assignment and could return for Tuesday’s game. The Brewers might wait until Wednesday, where he can be the DH at Target Field.
