Educator and Navy reservist Phillip Parrish dropped out of the GOP Senate endorsement race following the third ballot Friday, instead throwing his support behind State Sen. Julianne Ortman while Chris Dahlberg continues to hold a commanding lead.

With four candidates remaining, Parrish received 11 percent of votes--enough to remain on the ballot, but far behind Julianne Ortman, Mike McFadden and the leader, Chris Dahlberg. Immediately after the results were read, he approached the podium to cheers from the crowd.

"I mean no disrespect to the other candidates," he said before throwing his support behind Ortman, saying she was the No. 1 candidate he could trust to act.

Here are the results:

Chris Dahlberg: 799 votes, 41 percent

Mike McFadden 557 votes, 28.8 percent

Julianne Ortman 350 votes, 18 percent

Phillip Parrish 222 votes, 11.4 percent

291 ballots held no endorsement. Stay tuned for Round 4.

The results follow two consistent leads by Dahlberg in the first and second rounds.
