After two days off, the Lynx returned to practice Thursday on the Target Center main court. And while the practice perhaps wasn't as crisp as coach Cheryl Reeve would have liked, there was a nice surprise: Devereaux Peters, who had surgery on her left knee May 7, was able to take part in a good bit of the workout.

She was not, however, able to go full-out. "Not quite," she said. I did some of the drills and was out for a lot of them. So I'm just taking my time."

Both Peters and Monica Wright, who had surgery on her left knee April 25, have missed all five of the Lynx games so far. So has All-Star forward Rebekkah Brunson, who had surgery on her right knee May 13.Wright has been progressing well, too.

Peters and Wright appear to be rather close to returning, though neither will be available either Friday or Sunday when the Lynx play a home-and-away series with San Antonio.

"I'm just easing into it," Peters said. "I's going to be a little bit of a road. You don't want to jump back into it real quick and hurt herself again.''

Said Reeve: It's kind of getting back into more of a routine for these guys. We've been away, so Dev and Monnie haven't had a chance to get in stuff.''

I would think the Lynx home the players will be available to get close to full participation in practice after the team returns from its game in San Antonio next week.

That's about it for now. I'll get back to you after Friday's game.
