To the gentleman at the SuperAmerica on W. Lake Street in Minneapolis who, upon seeing our overheated and disabled van, stopped his car to recommend a service station with a mechanic down the road; to the SuperAmerica employee who looked up the address and phone number of the service station; to Eric, the Calhoun Beach Automotive mechanic, who left his station to help start our van, look for obvious mechanical problems, and safely get the van back to his station for repair the next day; to the gentleman eating at Subway in the Market Plaza who, upon overhearing our conversation, searched for a nearby car rental on his smartphone; and to Bob and family of Coon Rapids who were eating at the same Subway and offered me a ride home to retrieve my second vehicle, I say "thank you" to all.

My family and I appreciate your kindness and willingness to reach out and help. My husband and daughters were still able to enjoy a beautiful afternoon at Lake Calhoun on Memorial Day, and I was able to get them home through the thoughtfulness of strangers.

Our adventure proves Minnesota Nice still dwells here.
