Memorial Day: What's open and what's closed

Post offices: Closed. No regular mail service.
Banks: All Bremer Bank branches will be closed. TCF traditional branches will close at 4 p.m. and in-store branches (in Cub) close early at 6 p.m. Wells Fargo in-store and traditional branches will be closed. U.S. Bank traditional branches will be closed; branches in Byerly’s stores will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Groceries: Many major supermarkets will be open. Call for hours.
Malls: Many stores will be open. Call for hours.
Mass transit: Regular Northstar service doesn’t run on Memorial Day, but an added southbound trip will operate for the Twins game. Metro Transit buses, the Blue Line (Hiawatha) and the Red Line will follow Sunday/holiday schedules. For route information, call 612-373-3333 or go to www.metrotransit.org. The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, Maple Grove Transit, Plymouth Metrolink and SouthWest Metro Transit will not have service. Call Metro Mobility for service.
Parking meters: Will not be enforced in Minneapolis and St. Paul. The University of Minnesota will not enforce meters unless noted on the meter. Minneapolis parks will enforce meters unless noted on the meter.
Schools: Public schools and the University of Minnesota will be closed.
Public agencies: Local, state and federal offices will be closed.
