Recipes: Gin

Note: To make simple syrup, heat equal parts sugar and water until the sugar dissolves; cool before using. Adapted from “Diffordsguide.”

• 2 oz. (1/4 c.) gin

• 1 oz. (1/8 c.) lime juice

• 0.5 oz. (1 tbsp.) simple syrup (see Note)

• 7 to 8 fresh mint leaves (reserve 1 for garnish)

Directions

Shake ingredients with ice and finely strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with mint leaf.

Note: To make honey syrup, heat ½ cup water with ½ cup sugar until sugar dissolves. Stir in ½ cup honey; cool before using. Adapted from “The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks,” by David Embury.

• 2 oz. (1/4 c.) gin

• 0.5 oz. (1 tbsp.) lemon juice

• 0.25 oz. (1 1/2 tsp.) honey syrup (see Note)

• Thin strip of lemon peel

Directions

Shake ingredients with cracked ice, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon peel.
