TV picks for May 13: Wes Moore, 'Frontline,' 'Pearl Jam Twenty'
- May 12, 2014 - 12:51 PM
Just because the shooting has stopped doesn’t mean the war is over. “Coming Back With Wes Moore” has the bestselling author spending time with veterans trying to reintegrate themselves into mainstream society. The project continues over the next two Tuesdays. 7 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2
Shhhh! Keep this on the down low: “Frontline” has the ultimate look at how the U.S. government came to monitor and collect the communications of millions of people in “United States of Secrets.” The three-hour project concludes next Tuesday. 8 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2
Do the evolution
Three hours may seem like quite a commitment to one band, but Cameron Crowe’s “Pearl Jam Twenty,” originally released in 2011, doesn’t have a second of filler. It’s packed with insightful interviews and great concert footage. If only Crowe could work this kind of magic with his flailing feature-film career. 8 p.m., VH1 Classic
