Kasson-Mantorville junior Taylor Wiebke broke the girls' state record in the high jump on Tuesday with a leap that cleared 5 feet, 11 inches at the Class 2A, Section 1 True Team meet in Winona.
Wiebke, the Class 2A state runner-up in 2013, eclipsed the previous record of 5-10 ¾, set by Waseca's Tressa Beckel in 2006.
Wiebke won the Hamline Elite Meet on April 25 with a jump of 5-5. Lakeville South's Caraline Slattery, who won the state meet last year as a sophomore, was second at 5-4.
At the 2013 state meet, Slattery cleared 5-8 while Wiebke cleared 5-7.
