Danny Santana is here and wearing No. 39. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he could use Santana at second, short or the outfield. Santana added third base to the list as well.  As of this writing, Santana took grounders at short as Paul Molitor looked on and gave him some tips. Santana then went to the outfield and took some fly balls. The Twins need other options to play center now that Aaron Hicks is on the concussion DL.

As for Hicks, he might not be ready when his seven-day stint is up. Gardenhire was asked about that before the game.

``You have to err on the side of caution,'' Gardenhire said. ``Talking with him in the dugout (Friday), he was still feeling the affects.''

The Twins had hoped that Josh Willingham would be ready to hit on the field by now, but there continues to be some pain in his left wrist when he swings. So they have backed him off some.

Gardy would like to get Logan Darnell on the mound while he's up there, but prefers to do so in as close to a low-pressure situation as possible. Most likely, he'll come in to start an inning and not be an option to enter a game in the middle of an inning with runners on base. Darnell's parents had just arrived at their vacation spot when Darnell got the call to the majors. They will cut their vacation short and try to see him next week when the team is in Cleveland.

The Twins are playing their 17th day game of the season, the most in baseball.

On this date three years ago, Francisco Liriano no-hit the White Sox in Chicago.
