The feigned outrage of the NBA and the press on the comments of an old man in private conversation is laughable ("Clippers owner allegedly makes racist comments," April 27). Whose private conversations could not ruin them? These conversations mean nothing; a person's public actions and statements are what matters.

Apparently, Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been a donor to the NAACP and was about to receive a second lifetime achievement award from that organization. If the NAACP gives back every dime, and if the Clippers players walk off the job, forfeiting their contracts, then I'll take them seriously.
