TWINS UPDATE

The Twins are 20-35 against the Tigers over the past three seasons, including 8-11 last year. … What a debut for Sam Fuld, who was 5-for-10 with three doubles in his first two games with the Twins. The Rays loaded the bases, but Burton got Desmond Jennings to pop up to get out of the jam. … Jason Kubel is a career .433 hitter against Porcello.

The two-time defending AL MVP went 6-for-13 over the past three games vs. the White Sox with a pair of three-RBI games. … Joe Nathan had a 12.27 ERA and two blown saves through his first four outings with his new team, but over his past five games the former Twins closer has given up only one run and is 3-for-3 in save chances. … Rajai Davis, who doesn't get cheated on a swing, is third among Detroit regulars with a .459 slugging percentage. … Danny Worth started at shortstop Thursday, but Andrew Romine has been getting most of the starts in the absence of Jose Iglesias, who could miss the entire season because of stress fractures in both shins.
