Type: Retail

Size: 3,386 square feet

Developer: City & County Credit Union

Architect: NewGround

Details: The final piece of the Stonehenge Shoreview retail center will be plugged in with the coming of a new City & County Credit Union in the southeast quadrant of the Interstate 694-Lexington Avenue interchange.

The Shoreview Planning Commission last month gave its unanimous approval to plans under which the new credit union would join the recently built Trader Joe's, Five Guys Burgers and Fries and other shops as the third and final phase of the 6.6-acre retail center.

A narrative submitted by the credit union said the facility will be a next-generation "branch of the future" with an interior designed to focus on the customer experience. It is to be a "flagship facility" that will set a precedent for the St. Paul-based credit union, which currently has four branches.

Positioning on its 1.1-acre site was selected to get maximum exposure from I-694. The site plan includes two drive-through lanes and shared parking with the two other Stonehenge parcels.

The building's design from St. Louis-based NewGround Architects is composed of an exterior insulation finish system, aluminum composite panels and glass.
