An aspiring Woodbury filmmaker will be premiering his first full-length feature production in a limited screening in his hometown on Thursday.

"My Senior Year," a comedy/drama coming-of-age movie that was written, directed and produced by award-winning filmmaker Joe Carlini, will be shown in limited screenings at the Woodbury 10 Theatre, 1470 Queens Dr., starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and free to students with an ID.

"My Senior Year," with a cast of up-and-coming actors from Minnesota and filmed almost entirely in Woodbury and St. Paul — including many scenes in Woodbury High School — tells the story of a senior high school student who finds the courage to confront issues such as bullying, depression and suicide prevention. The 91-minute film has not been rated, but contains scenes intended for those 13 years old or older.

Carlini, a 2006 graduate of Woodbury High School, has directed more than 30 short action films, documentaries, commercials and music videos. He has received eight nominations and won three student regional Emmy Awards. His films have been screened at area film festivals.
