Q: I really enjoy ABC's "Castle." Could you provide more information about the young lady who plays Rick Castle's daughter, Alexis? She's a very good actress.

A: Twenty-year-old Texas native Molly Quinn began acting young and has compiled a list of credits besides "Castle." She was in the movies "My One and Only," "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" and the Robert Zemeckis-directed version of "A Christmas Carol." More recently she had a supporting role in the TV hit "We're the Millers" and was Gretel in the movie "Hansel & Gretel Get Baked."

In addition, says her bio: "When Quinn's not in front of the camera, she works on numerous projects as a voice-over artist. Most recently cast as the voice of Supergirl for Warner Bros. Animation and DC Comics, she has voiced roles for Cartoon Network's hit series 'Ben 10: Ultimate Alien' and is currently the voice of Bloom in the Nickelodeon global hit, 'The Winx Club' She also narrates and brings to life each character in the audio-books for 'The Mortal Instruments,' by Cassandra Claire."

Alda Sr. starred on stage and screen

Q: I'm 75. Growing up, there was a musical show hosted by Robert Alda, Alan Alda's father, on television. What was its name?

A: Robert Alda, who died in 1986, was known mainly as an actor on films, television and Broadway. He won a Tony award playing Sky Masterson in "Guys and Dolls" and was George Gershwin in the movie "Rhapsody in Blue." You probably remember him as the original host of "By Popular Demand," a summer series on CBS in 1950 that had entertainment acts competing and was later hosted by Arlene Francis.

Harmon's mother starred in 40 films

Q: Mark Harmon's father, Tom, was a Heisman Trophy winner. But what was Mark's mother's name? She had a Hollywood connection.

A: That was Elyse Knox. She was a model and later an actress, appearing in about 40 movies. Her most famous role might have been in "The Mummy's Tomb," in which she was kidnapped by a monster played by Lon Chaney Jr.

She and Tom Harmon married in 1944. Daughter Kristin came along in 1945, followed by daughter Kelly in 1948 and son Mark in 1951. Elyse had made her last film in 1949, later saying, "I'm just a mother at heart, so I decided it was time to retire from the screen."

Tom Harmon died in 1990. Elyse died in 2012, at 94.
