St. Paul fire crews pulled an unidentified man’s body from the icy Mississippi River on Thursday morning.
The body was found shortly before 11 a.m. close to shore near the Ford Dam, also known as Lock & Dam No. 1, said St. Paul Fire Marshal Steve Zaccard. Hennepin County and Ramsey County sheriff’s offices also were on scene, Zaccard said.
The body was turned over to the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office to determine a cause of death. As of Friday afternoon, the man’s identity had not yet been released pending review of dental records.
