Suspicious activity. Someone selling a boat slip on Craigslist contacted authorities after receiving a $3,000 PayPal payment from a supposedly interested buyer that turned out to be fraudulent.

FEB. 12

Theft. Construction heaters were stolen, replaced and then taken again from a work site in the 9000 block of Jeffrey Boulevard.

LAKE ELMO

FEB. 10

Disturbance. A customer yelled and made a fist at an employee while trying unsuccessfully to return some cheese dip to the Lake Elmo Market, 11025 10th St. The employee told a deputy he assisted the angry man out the door. The customer then threw the dip at the building.

FEB. 14

In park after hours. Two occupants of a vehicle parked with its lights on and windows steamed up at Pebble Park, 8160 Lake Jane Tr., were given a warning for being in the park after hours.

FEB. 15

Suspicious activity. A shop in the 3400 block of Lake Elmo Avenue requested extra patrol after holding an open house and noticing a man and woman taking photos of the business' doors and locks.

LAKE ST. CROIX BEACH

FEB. 15

Property damage. Several mailboxes were damaged by a vehicle in the area of Riviera Avenue and 17th Street. The driver explained he accidently slid down the hill and couldn't stop in time to prevent hitting the mailboxes. He agreed to pay for or repair the damage.

MAHTOMEDI

FEB. 10

Disgruntled person. A person refused to get off a transportation service bus after being brought to the wrong place in the 100 block of East Avenue. The passenger was calm and agreed to get off the bus when a deputy arrived.

FEB. 13

Dumping complaint. A woman admitted putting her garbage in a bin belonging to a condominium in the 100 block of Wildwood Beach Road. The woman, whose mother lives in the condos, was observed unlocking the padlock to the garbage bin and throwing in a bag of trash. She took the bag out when she noticed someone had been watching her.

OAKDALE

FEB. 11

Public assist. A man with ignition interlock on his vehicle told police it keeps giving him a fail reading when he hasn't been drinking. He asked an officer to give him a preliminary breath test to show the equipment was not working. His test came out .000.

Burglary. Someone broke into a garage in the 6900 block of 10th Street and took $10 in change and three bottles of cologne from a vehicle parked there.

WOODBURY

FEB. 11

Counterfeit bill. A customer at Arby's, 9975 Hudson Rd., used a counterfeit $20 bill to pay for his food. When the employee went to confront the customer, the customer drove off.

FEB. 12

Suspicious activity. Several people were reported parking their cars and entering a wooded area in the 10000 block of Watersedge Lane with what looked like metal detectors and other electronic equipment. The group was geocachers who had lost a GPS unit in the area.

FEB. 13

Theft. A purse was taken from a woman in the parking lot of Rainbow Foods, 7050 Valley Creek Plaza. The woman was loading groceries into her car when a vehicle drove up beside her and suddenly took off. She discovered the purse, which had been in her cart, was missing after loading all the groceries.
