Arizona added to former Viking Darren Sharper's legal problems Wednesday with an indictment for two more charges of sexual assault and three charges of administering dangerous drugs for assaults alleged to have happened in November.

"This morning Tempe Detectives served Sharper's attorney the indictment," read a statement Sgt. Michael Pooley of the Tempe Police Department. A grand jury heard the allegations and returned the indictment Tuesday.

Media report that Sharper is currently in custody in Los Angeles, where he has pleaded not guilty to drugging and sexually assaulting two women in California. Sharper is being investigated for sexual assaults in Louisiana, Florida, and Nevada.

He was expected to be released from custody Thursday, the deadline a California judge set for New Orleans authorities to charge Sharper. But that was before these Arizona charges were filed.

Sharper's Los Angeles attorney Blair Berk was not available for comment Wednesday, but has told other media the sex was consensual.

According to the Arizona police report Sharper allegedly apologized to one of two women who claim the retired NFLer drugged and raped them after a night of club-hopping.

Sharper allegedly came to Arizona from Los Angeles, where he had been working as an analyst for NFL Network, to hang out with a woman he had met the previous year in Las Vegas. "The two of them maintained contact via phone and text messages and saw each other occasionally. [She] reported they were not dating but had a sexual relationship. She reported Sharper flew into Phoenix yesterday to visit her and a few other friends he has in town," states the police report. According to the police report this woman stated, "Sharper had given her a 'Molly' in the past. [She] explained that 'Molly' was like ecstasy or 'MCMA.' "

The woman told police that she dropped off Sharper at a breakfast place after the alleged sexual assaults and kept asking him "why the other girls would all say that something happened" while she was indisposed. "I don't really remember," Sharper is quoted as saying in the police report. "I guess I could have done that. I'm really sorry."
