Senior Maggie Keefer of the Gophers finished second in women's 1-meter diving on Monday in the NCAA Zone D Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Her score was 661.10 and advanced her to the NCAA meet, also at Minnesota, on March 20-22. Keefer was second in the national meet a year ago.

Sophomore Jessica Ramberg of the Gophers placed fourth (632.95). That's one spot short of automatically qualifying for the NCAA meet, but she still could get an invitation.

Keefer was fifth and Ramberg 13th on the 3-meter board Tuesday.

Manny Pollard of the Gophers finished fourth Monday in men's 3-meter diving (815.45) and is in the same position as Ramberg, on the bubble for the NCAA meet. He was 11th in 1-meter diving Tuesday. The men's national meet is March 27-29 in Austin, Texas.

Platform diving competition will be held Wednesday.
