The Monday rush hour wasn't too bad for most commuters as roads were in good condition. We did have a few spinouts early in the drive, but not many problems once the sun came up.

Congestion was managable in most places, but northbound 35W was tangled from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., making for a 20-minute drive from Crosstown to downtown.

Drivers also felt the squeeze on northbound Hwy. 169 from Canterbury Road in Shakopee up to 494 and on southbound 494 from the Fish Lake Interchange to 394.

Both of those routes have emptied out.

Northstar trains ran close to schedule but a switching issue on the south end of the Blue Line caused light-rail trains to run 15 minutes late for the middle portion of the rush.

Currently we have a couple incidents to look out for.

A crash is blocking the right lane of eastbound Hwy. 13 just before the 35W exits in Burnsville.

We also have a fender bender slowing down traffic on eastbound 94 at Hennepin Avenue.

Road work is in place on southbound 35W at 110th Street in Bloomington/Burnsville. Yep, that season is about to kick in just as the snow starts to leave. The ramp from westbound Hwy. 5 to Post Road near the MSP airport also is shut down for maintenance.
