  • February 22, 2014 - 8:57 PM

One day soon, believe it or not, this winter will end. In anticipation of warmer days ahead, both Ramsey County and the city of St. Paul are getting ready for the coming swimming season.

Ramsey County is seeking lifeguards to work at five parks — Tony Schmidt, Lake Josephine, Long Lake, Lake McCarrons and Vadnais-Snail Lake and at the Battle Creek Waterworks water park. Training courses are being offered March 14-16 and March 21-23 for new applicants (fee is $100). Two recertification courses will also be offered in May for returning applicants. Details can be found at www.co.ramsey.mn.us.

St. Paul is looking for lifeguards for its Highland Park Aquatic Center and Como Regional Park outdoor pools, its Great River Water Park and the Phalen Park beach. Applicants must pass a training class. For details, go to: http://www.stpaul.gov.
