For the boys

Jason Katims, the genius behind TV versions of "Friday Night Lights" and "Parenthood," tries his hand at a sitcom with "About a Boy," a likable show based largely on the chemistry between should-be star David Walton and young Benjamin Stockham. Oh, there's also Minnie Driver, who has little to play with. If the writers can lighten up her down-in-the-dumps character, this one could be a keeper. 10:07 p.m. Sat., KARE, Ch. 11

On thin ice

Before the "Real Housewives," before the Kardashians, there was Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding, the 1994 figure skaters drawn into one of the most sordid scandals in Olympic history. Both women share their stories in "Nancy & Tonya," along with various coaches and journalists. 6 p.m. Sun., KARE, Ch. 11

The race is (back) on

Maybe the second time's a charm. Just two seasons after finishing ninth on "The Amazing Race," John Erck of Mora, Minn., and Eden Prairie's Jessica Hoel return for an all-star edition of the Emmy-winning reality series. The engaged couple will go up against 10 veteran teams that include a pair of Harlem Globetrotters and a couple of ranchers who finished second in Season 18. 7 p.m. Sun., WCCO, Ch. 4

Bottoms up!

Raise your glasses for the Season 4 finale of "Downton Abbey," which features guest appearances by Shirley MacLaine and Paul Giamatti. If you prefer not drinking alone, stop by Brit's Pub in downtown Minneapolis, where viewers can watch the mannered drama on a giant screen. 8 p.m. Sun., TPT, Ch. 2
