Just in time for the arrival of temperatures well above freezing, a lack of heat at a St. Paul school has undermined classes for the day Tuesday and evening activities in the building as well.
Battle Creek Elementary School is closed because its heating system failed, a district spokeswoman said. Also called off are evening activities at the building, located on Ruth Street, just south of Upper Afton Road.
Tuesday's high is forecast to be in the low 40s under mostly sunny skies. This follows many weeks of unusually cold and snowy weather for the Twin Cities.
