Florimon out for two weeks after having appendix removed

Pedro Florimon will miss the first two weeks of spring training after having his appendix moved this morning, Star Tribune baseball writer La Velle E. Neal III is reporting from Fort Myers.
Just after 11 a.m., Neal tweeted:

The Twins had their first workout for pitchers and catchers this morning, but some positions players were on hand for early workouts.
Florimon batted .221 last year in his first full season in the majors, playing 134 games and hitting nine home runs. Other middle infield candidates who will be in training camp include Eduardo Escobar, Jason Bartless and Doug Bernier.
