POINT PLEASANT, N.J. — In a story Feb. 16, The Associated Press reported that more than 80 people have died in recent weeks from injecting heroin laced with fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opiate. The number included 25 fentanyl-related deaths in Rhode Island, and the story should have made clear that health officials in that state are unsure how many of those cases also involved heroin.
