MINNEAPOLIS — The University of Minnesota's School of Music director says a partnership with Minnesota Orchestra musicians will resume, it's just not clear when.

The orchestra returned to the stage Thursday night for the first time since a bitter 16-month-long contract dispute ended. The concert was also the musicians first in Orchestra Hall since its $52 million renovation and expansion.

Before the lockout, some orchestra musicians taught classes at the Twin Cities campus and coached students on orchestra literature and repertoire. The Minnesota Daily (http://bit.ly/1aDqZtA ) says students also had the opportunity to attend Minnesota Orchestra rehearsals.

School of Music Director David Myers says students were at a disadvantage during the lockout. He says the partnership will continue, but no date for resuming it has been set.
