WEST BEND, Wis. — The West Bend native who was shot and killed at Purdue University this week is being remembered for his kind heart and eagerness to help others.
About 150 people gathered for a prayer service Wednesday evening at Saint Frances Cabrini Parish in West Bend, Wis., about 40 miles northwest of Milwaukee. They were there to remember Andrew Boldt, who was killed Tuesday.
Many entered the parish quietly, some carrying boxes of tissues. They hugged in silence, looked at each other with tearful eyes and slowly made their way to the pews.
Pastor Nathan Reesman remembers Boldt as polite, friendly and bright. He says now isn't the time to look for answers, but to care for and support one another.
Funeral plans are still being finalized.
