SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. — Sheboygan Falls High School will allow two boys' basketball players suspended for their hand signs in a photo to play in Friday night's game against rival Plymouth.
Brothers Jordan and Juwaun Jackson were initially suspended after the photo ran in a local paper. Though the boys say they were simply demonstrating a popular hand signal for a successful 3-point shot duplicated by many famous players, others thought they were instead displaying gang signs.
WTMJ-TV (http://bit.ly/1i77Rqi ) reports the high school stood by the decision Thursday, but on Friday announced the boys would be granted a closed-session appeal hearing.
The ACLU of Wisconsin says it will investigate whether or not Sheboygan Falls High School is complying with state and federal guidelines that prevent unfair discipline.
