MILWAUKEE — The foundation that operates Frank Lloyd Wright houses in Wisconsin and Arizona had a banner year for fundraising in 2013.
The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation raised over $1 million, which was more than the total raised the two years before. In 2011, it raised $485,000 and in 2012 it raised nearly $542,000.
President and chief executive officer, Sean Malone, attributes the generosity to the foundation's effort to reach out to more people and people getting excited by their work. He says the 2013 total is the most raised in at least a decade.
The foundation runs Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Ariz. and Taliesin in Spring Green, Wis.
They plan to put the funds toward restoration and preservation, the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and school education programs.
