Utility crews brave elements to restore power

MONONA, Wis. — We Energies crews are working to restore power to more than 1,000 homes and businesses in Dodge County.

The outage occurred in the Town of Clyman near Watertown Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, service has been restored to hundreds of customers left without heat in Monona.

Madison Gas & Electric brought in extra employees who worked overnight Monday in the bitter cold to return power to 900 customers. WKOW-TV (http://bit.ly/1fav4ra ) reports power was restored to everyone by 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Monona City Hall was opened Monday night for those who needed a place to keep warm. Utility officials aren't sure what caused the outage.
