Keeping tabs on Friday's morning commute

Good morning, commuters!
Temperatures are low enough that black ice is a definite possibility today, so heed the warning and take it easy out there.
We already have one accident out there, and that is a single-car crash taking out the center lane of northbound 35E at W. 7th Street in St. Paul.
For drivers who normally use the carpool lanes on eastbound I-394, MnDOT crews have been unable to get the gates at Hwy. 100 open. That will force drivers to use the general lanes until the problem can be rectified.
Motorists can access the eastbound 394 carpool lanes from both directions of Hwy 100.
I will be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.
If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
