Supersize me

Need a break from the relatives? Try binge-watching the critically acclaimed "Breaking Bad" (11 a.m. Friday, AMC), which will repeat every single episode, in order, through Monday. AMC will follow that up with a two-day marathon of "Walking Dead" (8 a.m. Tuesday)

The way he was

Christopher Walken, Woody Allen, Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand and Tim Rice are just a few of the names on an eclectic guest list for "Marvin Hamlisch: What He Did for Love" (8 p.m. Friday, TPT, Ch. 2), a touching tribute to one of the most endearing songwriters of the 20th century, with lots of generous clips.

It's an honor

"The 36th Annual Kennedy Center Honors" (8 p.m. Sunday, WCCO, Ch. 4) promises another evening of top-flight entertainment with Buddy Guy strumming for Carlos Santana, Snoop Dogg rapping for Herbie Hancock, Sutton Foster dancing for Shirley MacLaine and Garth Brooks serenading Billy Joel.

Critical condition

In a year of outstanding television, some shows simply slipped through the cracks. That certainly was the case with "Getting On" (9:15 p.m. Sunday, HBO), which wraps up a season that seemed to accurately display the woes of a hospital nurse. Laurie Metcalf, Alex Borstein and Molly Shannon have been particularly touching in different ways. Let's hope HBO revives this series — with more life support.
