Champlin Park impresses again

• CHAMPLIN PARK 81, EDEN PRAIRIE 65: The Rebels, ranked No. 7 in Class 4A, earned their second victory over a top-10 team in 24 hours by defeating the No. 5 Eagles in the Breakdown Classic at Minnetonka High School. The Rebels, who defeated No. 2 Osseo on Friday night, raced to a 42-20 halftime lead against the Eagles. Marty Hill scored 20 points and J.T. Gibson added 16 for the Rebels (6-1), whose only loss is to No. 3 Hopkins by three points. Grantham Gillard scored 22 points to lead the Eagles.

• BELGRADE-BROOTEN-ELROSA 90, MINNEAPOLIS NORTH 75: Senior Brian Goodwin scored 46 points to lead the Jaguars, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A, past the Polars in the Breakdown Classic. Freshman Ahzerik Rodgers scored 24 points for the Polars.

• DELASALLE 63, OSSEO 55: Jarvis Johnson scored 21 points to lead the Islanders, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A, past the Orioles, ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, in the Breakdown Classic.

• HOPKINS 89, LAKEVILLE NORTH 84: The Royals, ranked No. 3 in Class 4A, outlasted the No. 4 Panthers in the Breakdown Classic. Stephon Sharp scored 25 to lead the Royals. J.P. Macura scored 48 — 27 in the second half — for the Panthers.

• TARTAN 70, RICE LAKE (WIS.) 67: Keenan Bellaphant scored 23 points and Eric Winter 18 to help the Titans outlast the Warriors and Henry Ellenson in the Breakdown Classic. Ellenson, the brother of Gophers guard Wally Ellenson, had 36 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks.

• MINNETONKA 77, BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 45: Sophomore Courtney Fredrickson scored 21 to pace the Skippers, ranked No. 7 in Class 4A.

BSM skates past Hibbing/Chisholm

• BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 6, HIBBING/CHISHOLM 1: Spencer Naas scored two goals and Mark Kaske had a goal and two assists to lead the host Red Knights, ranked No. 4 in Class 2A, to the victory.

• BRECK 6, EAST GRAND FORKS 0: David Husband scored three goals and Henry Johnson stopped 28 shots to lead the No. 1 Mustangs past the No. 4 Green Wave in a matchup of Class 1A powers.

GIRLS' HOCKEY

Quick goals in third spark Stillwater

• STILLWATER 6, PARK OF COTTAGE GROVE 3: The Ponies' Ali Biagini and Kourtney Jancze scored seven seconds apart in the third period to spark Stillwater to victory. Biagini's goal broke a 2-2 tie.
