RACINE, Wis. — Racine police say a drive-by shooting occurred near a school, and that pellets from a short-barreled shotgun hit the window of a classroom. No one was hurt.
There were no students in the classroom at the time, but at least one Walden School staff member was inside.
Authorities say several Racine men had gotten into an argument with other individuals Friday about 2:15 p.m. The men later went into a house, and police say one of the individuals opened fire in their direction from a vehicle.
Police say the gunman was a 21-year-old man from Fargo, N.D. They say a 24-year-old Racine man returned fire from the home, hitting the school.
Both alleged gunmen have been arrested.
