That Spurs-Wolves meeting that never got played in Mexico City last week gets played tonight in San Antonio in what was an already-scheduled home game for the Spurs.
That game postponed because of smoke at Mexico City Arena will be rescheduled for Target Center in April, but for tonight the two teams will go at it with basically the same scouting reports they had prepared nine days ago.
The Spurs will be missing starting center Tiago Splitter and reserve forward Aron Baynes.
Somebody mentioned that to Rick Adelman before tonight's game and asked him what kind of advantage that might give his Wolves.
"Is Parker playing?" he asked a San Antonio reporter.
"I don't know how much we're going to be able to do," Adelman said. "They still have a lot of ways they can go."
One other thing: The Spurs are one of the NBA's most active teams when it comes to using their D League affiliate, just an hour up the freeway in Austin, Tex.
Adelman said Wolves management will discuss using their Des Moines, Iowa, -- with rookies Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng and maybe even Alexey Shved -- "once we get through December" and a schedule that remains hectic through Christmas.
The Wolves, btw, have won the last two meetings between the teams, dating back to the final month of last season.
