MILWAUKEE — Doctors have recommended that Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett spend another night in the hospital, where he's being treated for exhaustion following a 20-kilometer run.

The mayor's office says Barrett underwent a series of tests Monday at Wheaton Franciscan-Wisconsin Heart Hospital, and "nothing alarming was found."

Barrett's spokesman, Jeff Fleming, says the mayor is in good spirits but will spend another night in the hospital.

While scheduled meetings on Barrett's calendar have been postponed, he continues to monitor city business from the hospital.

Barrett, who turned 60 on Sunday, ran the race Sunday indoors at the Pettit National Ice Center. He finished the run before requiring medical attention.
