KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha police say a standoff has ended with a woman dead and a 37-year-old man in custody.
The Kenosha News reports a SWAT team activated a noise-making device and entered the home where the standoff was taking place about 3 p.m. Wednesday. Police later confirmed the death and arrest.
WISN-TV reports the standoff started about 5 a.m., when a man called police and said his brother had shot and killed a woman in the home.
Kenosha Police Chief John Morrissey says the suspect refused to come out of the house and refused to cooperate with police.
Police, fire and SWAT teams cordoned off several blocks surrounding the home during the standoff.
The police chief says the suspect was arrested with little resistance. The dead woman was found in the basement.
