The Gophers will be without one of their top scorers for the Big Ten opener against Wisconsin on Friday at Mariucci Arena. Taylor Cammarata is sidelined with back issues and is listed as day-to-day.

The freshman forward has played in all 12 games on the second line and compiled 11 points (three goals, eight assists). His speed is among the best on the team and has helped set up many of the second line's 10 goals.

Redshirt freshman Connor Reilly will fill Cammarata's void at right wing on the second line. Reilly has mostly played left wing this season, jumping back and forth from the fourth and third lines. He does have an appearance at right wing.

Though Reilly is a redshirt freshman, he is three-and-half years older than Cammarata and could provide a more veteran feeling on the line with senior co-captain Nate Condon and freshman Justin Kloos.

• Louie Nanne committed to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on Thursday night. The former Gophers commit and Edina High School product is currently recovering from two shoulder surgeries and is set to his make his debut with the USHL's Sioux Falls Stampede next week.

Nanne announced his de-commitment from the Gophers in early September. He plans to join RPI next season.

• Former Gophers standout Erik Haula was recalled by the Wild. He expects to make his NHL debut in Friday's 5 p.m. game against the Colorado Avalanche.

"Every time I've been here, you always think of what it feels like," Haula told the Star Tribune's Michael Russo. "Now it's actually happening. It's pretty crazy."

More on the development.

Friday's p.m. game is on ESPNU, live-streamed online by BTN2Go.com, and can be heard on 1500-AM.
