9 a.m. update: Rush hour wrap up

The weather cooperated this morning and roads were in good shape for the drive to work. Going home, we could see another round of light snow, and we know what that means.

Overall, the commute was decent for most people, but those on Hwy. 100 ran into some snags. Two crashes and a stall tied up southbound traffic from 36th Avenue to south of 394 for about 45 minutes between 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.   Currently things are tight from Duluth Street to 394.

Some road work in the right lane of eastbound 94 caught drivers by surprise. That led to delays from Hwy. 280 past the scene at Snelling Avenue. Currently we still have a bit of a squeeze through there.

At this hour, we are accident and crash free.

This has been a good week for southbound 35W drivers in the north metro. Hwy. 10 opened this week and apparently that has done wonders in relieving congestion between Lake Drive and 694. What has your experience been?  Let the drive know how that has helped your commute. Email drive@startribune or send a tweet to @stribdrive.

With winter arriving, road work has pretty much wrapped up for the season. This weekend we have no major road work projects, the first time we have been able to say that in months.
