Wonderland Park opened with great fanfare in 1905, boasting a "toboggan slide," an artificial lake, a merry-go-round and a building devoted to baby incubators. By 1911, the Minneapolis amusement park had grown to 20 acres, with 200-some buildings and a new boardwalk. But the land at 31st Avenue S. and E. Lake Street was apparently worth more than the revenue generated each year. The buildings were razed the following summer, and the land was divided into residential lots and sold. This ad, offering a "special dicount for cash," is from the Minneapolis Tribune.
