DARLINGTON, Wis. — A jury in Lafayette County has convicted a man in the drunken driving death of a passenger in his car.
Twenty-four-year-old Kyle Monahan has been found guilty of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and two other felonies in the 2011 crash that killed 21-year-old Rebecca Cushman, of Dixon.
Prosecutors say Monahan was driving his Saab at a high rate of speed near Shullsburg when the car left the road and rolled several times. Both Monahan and Cushman were thrown from the vehicle. The State Journal (http://bit.ly/1hEm6hE ) says Cushman was pronounced dead at the scene, while Monahan was taken by helicopter to a hospital.
