Concordia (Moorhead) baseball coach Bucky Burgau, the winningest coach in MIAC history in his sport, will step down after the 2014 season.

Burgau, who has 662 career and 403 MIAC wins over 35 seasons, will become a Cobbers assistant coach after next season. Chris Coste, his associate head coach, will replace Burgau.

"The time is right to make the move," Burgau said. "Not many people in this profession get the chance to go out on their terms. With Chris being able to take over and me being able to stay involved with the program, I am stepping down exactly how I wanted."

His teams won conference titles in 1985, 1993 and 1995, and four times he was MIAC coach of the year.
