I'm writing this before Saturday's playoff games. So I don't know if Atlanta and Los Angeles are going to rebound from first-game upsets.

But it's clear the Lynx will have an edge if they can finish off Seattle tomorrow in a game slated to be played at the Tacoma Dome. Something, by the way, that I think will happen. The less wear and tear veterans like Lindsay Whalen and Rebekkah Brunson have to take the better as the playoffs progress.

Here are some odds and ends:

--It was announced today that Indiana guard Katie Douglas – who missed Friday's upset of Chicago – will miss the rest of the playoffs after aggravating her long-standing back injury. To me, this just makes the Fever that much more dangerous. It was an injury-plagued Indiana team that stormed to the WNBA championship last year.

--It will be interesting to see if Los Angeles guard Kristi Toliver can rebound from her difficult shooting night in the Sparks loss to Phoenix Thursday. If not, the Sparks could be in trouble.

--Meanwhile, in the Washington-Atlanta matchup, Dream star Angel McCoughtry was pretty vocal after a first-game loss. Perhaps she'll play better, too.

--Former Lynx player and assistant coach Teresa Edwards was taking part in an "NBA FIT Boot Came" at a Naval submarine base youth center in Groton, Conn. Today. She and former Boston Celtics guard Dana Barros put on the clinic to highlight the importance of health and wellness to Children.

Edwards has a few thoughts about the Lynx's upcoming playoff run.

"I think the Lynx's advantage is experience," she said. "As long as they stay healthy…they look like they believe it's their year. Minnesota has to approach the playoffs with that dominant personality. They need to dictate. That's how they were when they won the championship last time, dominant."

That's it for now. Have a good rest of your weekend.
