The Bears are going for their first 3-0 start since 2010, when they played the Packers in the NFC Championship Game. But they also know they’re oh so close to trying to avoid an 0-3 start after come-from-behind wins against the Bengals and Vikings. “We’ve seen a unique team resiliency, an ability to keep our poise, an ability to just move on to the next play without what happened on the last play inhibiting us,” said coach Mark Trestman, whose team faces an 0-2 Steelers team that’s scored only 19 points.
Anyone who has watched Shaun Hill play for the Vikings or the Lions probably has a hard time picturing him imitating Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. Or at least a healthy RG3. But that’s what Hill, the Lions’ No. 2 QB, and No. 3 QB Kellen Moore did in practice this week. “Shaun supposedly ran the option in college,” Moore said. “Supposedly. I’ve only seen the 32-year-old version of Shaun since I got here. Somehow, all those highlights avoided YouTube and Google image searches.”
According to STATS, the Packers last week had the second-highest total for yards after the catch since 1992. They had 295 in their win over the Redskins. Only the Houston Oilers, who had 348 against the Vikings in 1992, had more.
