Authorities on Thursday identified the man who was fatally shot during a fight in a Brooklyn Park home late at night over Labor Day weekend.

Daniel E. Fredenburg, 43, of New Hope, died from several gunshot wounds, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner’s office.

No arrests have been made in the case, police inspector Todd Milburn said Thursday, but he added that he does not believe there is a risk to the public in connection with this killing.

It was about 2 a.m. on Aug. 31, when the shooting of Fredenburg occurred at a home in the 6200 block of Winnetka Av.

A witness told police that Fredenburg and several men got into a fight and that the others fled after the shooting.
