Gophers junior cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun has been lost for the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, Coach Jerry Kill said today.
Boddy-Calhoun had an 89-yard interception return for a touchdown in the season opener but injured the knee on the third play of Saturday's game at New Mexico State.
"It's certainly a blow to our football team," Kill said.
Kill did say Boddy-Calhoun should get a medical redshirt, which will give him two years of eligibility.
KEITH BREAKS HAND
Alex Keith broke a bone in his hand at New Mexico State, but might be able to play with a cast, Kill said.
