The Wild’s prospects team blew a two-goal lead and lost 5-2 to the New York Rangers’ prospects Monday in the seventh-place game of Traverse City (Mich.) tournament. Carter Sandlak and Miles Koules scored first-period goals for the Wild, which finished 0-2-2 in the eight-team tournament.
“It was kind of a sloppy game from start to finish,” Wild assistant general manager Brent Flahr said. “We got off to the 2-0 lead and got a little comfortable and just sloppy in the defensive zone. We have to execute better in certain situations.’’
Danny Kristo, a former Eden Prairie and North Dakota standout, scored for the Rangers.
