It will feel like summer in terms of the temperature and on the roads with portions of two metro area freeways shut down for the weekend.

Downtown Minneapolis will see some traffic with the Twins hosting the Toronto Blue Jays at Target Field Friday through Sunday.

In downtown St. Paul, country-pop star Taylor Swift and guests Ed Sheeran and Casey James bring "The Red Tour" to the Xcel Energy Center for shows at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Here is where you'll find the orange cones and detours this weekend:

I-494 in Bloomington

The eastbound lanes will be shut down for repaving between Hwy. 100 and 35W. The closure begins at 10 p.m. Friday and runs until 5 a.m. Monday.  In addition, the ramp from northbound 35W to eastbound 494 will be closed.

Westbound lanes will remain open.

Detour: North on Hwy. 100 to Crosstown, east on Crosstown to 35W or Cedar Avenue, south to 494.

I-694 in Arden Hills

The eastbound lanes will be closed from I-35W and Lexington Avenue for most of the weekend. The freeway will be reduced to a single lane from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, then shut down completely until 5 a.m. Monday.

During the closure, the ramp from eastbound 694 to northbound 35W will be closed. Drivers will need to exit at Long Lake Road and scoot up to County 96.

Ramps from northbound and southbound 35W to east 694 will be closed as well.

Detour: South on 35W to Hwy. 36, east on Hwy. 36 and north on I-35E.

I-35, 35W, 35E in south metro

Both directions of I-35 between County Road 2 and County Road 70 will remain a single lane until mid-November. This weekend additional lane restrictions will go into effect

They include the right lane of southbound 35W and the left lane of southbound 35E between County Road 42 and Crystal Lake Road . That will be in effect from 10 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday.

One piece of good news. The lane closures from County Road 50 to County Road 70 have been delayed by a week.

Hwy. 36

While the highway has reopened following a summer-long closure, there are still lane restrictions in place as work on the English Street overpass and bridges over Keller Lake continues.

The highway is reduced to a single lane between Hwy 61 and Edgerton Street until Sept. 28.

The ramp from southbound Hwy 61 to westbound Hwy 36 is closed until Monday.  The ramp from Hwy. 36 to westbound 694 will reopen on Oct. 2.

Downtown Minneapolis freeways

On Sunday, both directions of 35W between Hwy. 65 and Hiawatha Avenue will be reduced to one lane Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Also the left lane of southbound 35W from University Avenue to 11th Avenue will be closed for anti-icing work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Westbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane from I-35W and Hiawatha Avenue for bridge construction. That will be in effect from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.

Minneapolis Parkways

The Monarch Festival and 5K will bring a closing to Lake Nokomis Pkwy. from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

On Sunday, runners participating in the City of Lakes 25K and 5K races will take to the streets from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Impacted streets include Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriet and William Berry parkways.

Looking ahead to next week, here are a few projects of note:

  • Hwy. 47 in both directions at the railroad tracks in Anoka will close Monday through Sept. 16
  • The ramp from westbound 94 to White Bear Avenue in Maplewood will close Monday.
  • The ramp from westbound 694 to Lexington Avenue in Arden Hills will close Monday.
