A pickup truck has been found belonging to a potentially dangerous man described as a "person of interest" in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend and the critical wounding of her 28-year-old boyfriend in Granite Falls, Minn., authorities said Wednesday.

The 1996 GMC Sierra of Andrew J. Dikken, 28, of Granite Falls, was found in "a remote location" about 5 miles north of Belview, Minn., and about 20 miles southeast of where Kara A. Monson, 26, was found dead Monday morning from multiple gunshot wounds at her home on Prentice Street.

Christopher Allen Panitzke, 28, of Redwood Falls, is being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center. He also suffered multiple gunshot wounds during the same incident. A hospital spokeswoman said no information on his condition was available Wednesday afternoon.

Monson has a preschool-age daughter who was with her father for the weekend at the time she was killed.

Dikken has yet to be located and is presumed to be armed, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), which is assisting in the investigation.

"Mr. Dikken should not be approached as he may be armed and dangerous," the BCA said in a statement late Wednesday morning.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office at 1-320-564-2130.
